West Ham Midfielder Momo Diame poised to join Everton

Mohamed Diame is about to join Everton according to French news outlet France Football

Diame played 33 times for West Ham last season and has a buy-out clause of £3.5m.  Martinez is known to be an admirer of Diame having managed him at Wigan after he signed from French club Lens.

Having now spent four years in the Premier League Diame has plenty of experience in England and is generally deployed in the middle of the park to break up the play and distribute the ball.

To date the midfielder has played 129 top flight English matches and is also the current captain of the Senegal national team – having earned 19 caps for his country.

Interest from Arsenal and Spurs appears to have cooled on Diame in recent times as well, so if Martinez acts quickly the deal could be wrapped up before the competitors have any time to react.

    1. This isn’t true he is playing for West Ham tomorrow against Bournemouth if the 3.5 million release clause is met he will be offered a new contract so highly unlikely to be poised to sign however a bid may be in the pipeline

    2. Why would he want to go everton. That is no offence to you evertonians. I just feel that west ham and everton will be floating around the same area in the league table next year. If he goes surely he would want european football?

      • I’ll have whatever you are drinking! Everton are streets ahead of you mate… and you’ve just signed a donkey from our lovable neighbours! Our squad is packed full of top players. We will be a clear 10+ points ahead of your lot next year

    3. Considering he had a huge row with Martinez at Wigan which lead to Martinez not picking him for the last 6 months he was there, added to the fact he’s already on 50k a week and will expect an increase

I’d say there;s roughly ZERO chance of this happening

    4. why an earth would he go back to working under martinez.. ive got nothing against everton and im not having a pop at them, but i really feel they will be fighting relegation this year. surely diame doesnt want to be messing around at the bottom of the table again..? either way, it would a great signing for them, and a huge problem for us if he goes

      • Relegation hahaha you must be jokin mate dream on,we don’t do relegation,we’ve been in top flight more than ANY club in England.Keep him,he’s a great player yes but theres plenty of other targets out there.I think he should show a bit of loyalty to the hammers, sick of all these greedy players jumpin ship for a few more bob.

    5. Sorry, don’t get your hopes up, Diame is going nowhere. The belief of a £3.5 million buy out clause is wide of the mark and he remains integral to our plans.

    6. Liverpool fans know how good he is as he was unplayable against them at the bolyn ground and was subbed with an injury

    7. Another lazy “news” story…. Think about it… Merseyside over London?? nope…. Everton…. erm… no money..club for sale…bad relationship with new manager…. nope.. Bigger club..don’t make me laugh.. New era for an over achieving side…. Martinez isn’t Moyes… any astute player will sit and wait to see what happens next..Diame plays tonight vs Bournemouth.. and will be playing vs Cardiff on the opening day.. If Diame were to leave… why would he chose to lessen his profile… Redknapp will be linked next…

      • Everton – fourth most successful club in English Football, Londoners don’t half make me giggle with their utter lack of football knowledge. Everton are HUGE compared to West Ham. Why would the leagues sixth best team turn into relegation fodder overnight?! I wouldn’t take a single player of yours over any of ours. Keep Diame, lazy journalism at best. West Ham will be outside of the top ten next season, based on Norwich and Swansea and the way they have strengthened. Sorry pal.

      • You think a player will move because of a stadium? Could say the same for Matt Jarvis or Kevin Mirallas. West Ham fans have surprised me in this thread. All the hammers I know are generally okay, but 85% posting seem like complete numpties.

Maybe the reason West Ham are on the up is because they keep getting relegated.

As for Everton on the down, people have been saying that for the last 5 or 6 years, yet we constantly get top 7/8 despite lack of investment.

    8. Cmon, I am a West Ham fan and do not have a bad word to say about Everton. Diame wont go there FACT. but to say that Everton are relegation candidates is utter shite! They were always up there under Moyes, and i am sure they will be up there somewhere this term, but on the other hand for Everton fans to call us shite is ridiculous too, I am quietly confident we will improve on last years finish.
