    Toffees battling Euro teams for Swiss defender

    Everton are in the race for young Swiss defender Jan Bamert according to a variety of British press reports.

    The 19 year old Grasshopper Club Zurich defender is on the list of names that could be targeted by Everton manager Ronald Koeman as he looks to strengthen his squad.

    Bamert is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right back and left back and this could suit Koeman as he looks to find players that can play a number of roles.

    Benfica, Villarreal, Torino and Rennes are also interested in the Swiss player who is valued at around £1.6m
