I really feel for Coleman, I'm not sure anybody is blaming him?
You can extend the 'he's not the problem' argument to every single player who is at the club though, given they don't buy and pick themselves. But he's fucked isn't he, so people are going to point that out, even if it's not nice, especially for a player that most adored at his peak.
The manager can't be blamed for this situation because he's only just walked through the door. Coming straight in and effectively sacking the captain could go down like a lead balloon behind the scenes but surely the people who have been watching us every week for years could see he was going to be a large issue this season?
The scary thing is we seemingly tried to replace him with a kid that's barely kicked a ball for Rangers, as if we didn't need someone to come in immediately and play every week. Then there's Dumfries, a fella that excels as a wingback for Holland rather than right back. He's really having a shocking start in Italy by all accounts. I've no doubt he was only on the radar because Raiola was trying to get him a move, rather than us doing extensive scouting and deciding this was the right man for EFC. Same with van de Beek. Or Iwobi. Or Kean.
I'm not sure anybody will defend the board or DOF now though, if they do they're certainly not sticking their neck out on here anyway.
