That’s crazy when you consider some of the players we’ve had down the years.

Didn’t realise Jags had so many caps.

Wonder how many Pickford will end up with. While Southgate is in charge he's not going to get dropped, barring him making an absolute castrophe for him.

Oh and thank fuck that error last night didn't cost a goal. The press have been gagging to get after him for a while now, if/when it does come it'll be over the top and may shatter his confidence.

The real shame on that list is Baines.
Let’s not forget he didn’t get taken to a World Cup because of a rumour he gets home sick. A rumour which was off the back of an interview just saying he liked being at home from memory. Instead Steven Warnock went.

Haha remember that?

Fucking unreal.

Yes but Ball was only 21 when he signed for Everton and Jags was 25 by the time he made his debut.
Just checked * because I had no idea tbh
72 caps in total for Ball. But there were far fewer international matches in that era. It took a virtually ever present Bobby Moore and Charlton before him 12 years to amass their record totals.
Plus there were none of these 60 second subs to gain a cap.

Ball got his first cap aged 19, and had been capped 10 times before the 66 WC finals. His last cap was in 75, four years after Catterick sold him to Arsenal.
Surprised Jags was capped so many times though.
