Everton News James McCarthy likely to leave Everton shortly

James McCarthy likely to leave Everton shortly

Everton midfielder is likely to leave the club in the summer according to a report in the Liverpool Echo.

The combative midfielder has struggled to regain his midfield place following the appointment of Marco Silva last summer and the 28 year old is likely to look for new pastures.

McCarthy had been left out of the Republic of Ireland squad to allow him to sort out his own future and he would be allowed to leave the club permanently or on loan as he looks to be out of Silvas plans.

The same article states that Silva wants to bring in Andre Gomes permanently aswell as one other midfielder, with Mo Besic also likely to leave the club.

Should McCarthy look to stay with the blues and win his place back?

Super Bod - I am on the right
Brilliant player for a long time for us, good servant who always put 100% in but has sadly had terrible luck with injuries.

Wish him well and hope he does well wherever he goes

His career has wasted away these last few years. Needs a fresh start and hopefully someone gives us some money to allow him to do it. There are a fair few clubs in bottom half he would improve.

How long has he left on his contract? Wondering as I could see him injuring himself doing a medical at another club let alone on the pitch.
