    Everton scouting elusive Belgian again?

Everton manager David Moyes could stepping up his pursuit of Belgium midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe after the club scouted him in Anderlechts match against Club Brugge

If the club goes for Vadis, it will be the second time that David Moyes has tried to land his man after the ill-fated “is it on, isn’t it on” transfer in August 2012, that went through just too late.

Everton believed they had signed him on loan in August, until FIFA ruled the paperwork had been submitted too late and prevented the move going through.

That has not deterred Moyes from keeping tabs on him and preparing to revive a deal that could initially be on loan but could turn into a permanent transfer, should he make a favourable impression.

He would be Moyes’ third Belgian signing, after Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Mirallas, and would be a welcome expansion to Everton’s midfield options (since Phil Neville announced he was leaving the club), after becoming a key figure for Bruges since launching his international career as a substitute for Eden Hazard against Russia two years ago.

With doubts remaining over Fellaini’s long-term future at Goodison Park, following clear signals he wants to test himself at Champions’ League level, Odjidja-Ofoe would also be capable of filling any gap that might appear.

Initially seen as a defensive anchor man, he has developed a reputation as more of a box-to-box midfielder and could step into the breach, should the likes of Chelsea try and prise Fellaini away in the summer.
