    Everton made failed bid for £147m release clause international

    Everton tried and failed to sign Real Madrid attacker Denis Cheryshev as they attempted to sign the Russian late in the window according to the Daily Star.

    The Russian flyer has a £147m release clause, but barely features for the Spaniard so Everton looked to make their move but were too late in their approach.

    The 24 year old Russian had also been linked to moves to Liverpool and Arsenal.

    He has not featured in the league for Real Madrid this season and barely started a match in their pre-season campaign.
