Chelsea chase Barkley as Mata replacement (Media at it again)

The media are at it again, trying to sell our better players.

This time it’s the Telegraph, who report that Chelsea are targeting Ross Barkley with a huge bid in the Summer as a replacement for the departing Juan Mata to Manchester United for £37 million.

Barkley is happy, he is playing football every week, he’s still progressing and enjoys working under Martinez. Roberto himself has said he wouldn’t sell Ross for £50 million this month and now it is likely that any move couldn’t happen with his injured toe, but Chelsea are waiting to strike in the next window.

The Southern Blues are the team with the least home-grown players in the league, and are reportedly looking to amend this with their already few home-grown players ageing. Barkley would fit perfectly for this and and it is thought that Mourinho is also a big fan of Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

Ross has made 21 appearances for Everton this season, scoring four goals. Despite his injury, the youngster is expected to travel to the World Cup as a key member of Roy Hodgson’s England squad.

Barkley isn’t going to Chelsea, he’ll be signing a new contract. Loves it on Merseyside and is very close to his mum. And he’s nothing like Rooney.

    2. Fack orf rent boys it will cost you more than 37mil for Barkley. I hate Chelsea ‘cos they ruined football with their illegal gas money from Russia.Hate them
