Lukaku – For a young man you have a big mouth

Lukaku – For a young man you have a big mouth

He might be Evertons record signing, he might also be our top goalscorer and potentially one of the best strikers we have had since the 80’s and he might also be classed as an intelligent man in the newspapers, BUT Romelu Lukaku needs to learn about respect and when not to open his trap.

The 22 year old has once again spoken to the press to tell everyone that he has chosen his next destination.  That’s all very good Rom, but the fans that contribute to your excessive wages are VERY annoyed that you keep opening your big trap.

Footballers nowadays just don’t seem to have the class as those of yesteryear.  Contracts and clubs seem to mean nothing nowadays to players intent on living their career in the media.

I’m pretty sure that no Evertonian expected Lukaku to stay past this summer, BUT, what they do expect is that a player that puts the blue shirt on remains respectful and courteous to the club that has helped improve him as a player.

Lukaku keeps saying in the press how he can become the best in the world, yet he has barely turned up in a blue shirt since the FA Cup quarterfinal against Chelsea – pretty much summed up with the statement he made last week.

“In my head I know where I want to go but I’m keeping that to myself,” he said. “You will know when it is concluded. I have to make a good choice but in my head that has happened already. I have played [in England] for five years now, it’s my league. But there are other nice clubs. I follow Spanish and German football and I also have something for the Italian league.

“Wherever I go I want to win prizes,” he added. “During Leicester’s title ceremony I was standing just 10 metres from the trophy. I just stared at it for two minutes, forgetting to get on with the warm-up. I thought to myself, I want that.”

Yeah, it’s great that you want to win prizes Rom, but when you down tools while taking home £60,000 per week then open your mouth to the press, then fans have a right to be mad.

As for your gobshite father living his footballer dreams through his son, then that is another story.

The kid has been badly advised and needs a big lesson in respect, in the words of a grime artist described as the Rap Lukaku (Stormzy) rudeboy shut up.

Will you be glad to see the back of Lukaku or has he been let down?
