Koeman: Lookman has brought quality
Everton manager Ronald Koeman insists that newboy Ademola Lookman is ready to start in the Premier League and he feels that the 19 year old has brought quality to his squad.
The youngster signed from Charlton Athletic earlier this month and scored 1 minute into his debut off the bench against Manchester City and Koeman feels he will benefit from playing.
“I’m not afraid to give him a start,” said Koeman. “I’m impressed because he came from a lower league into a Premier League team with good players, with high intensity, and from the first day you’ve seen the reaction to him from the rest of the players.
“Football players know exactly after two days what a new signing is like, and he brought that quality. It’s already a big compliment for him that he was part of the squad last weekend instead of other players with more experience.
“We knew his qualities but he showing that on a higher level. He had a great debut and is part of the first team. Everyone knows he is still young but he will get games. That’s the best way to improve young players.”
What do you expect from Lookman this season?
