Besic: I am ready
Everton midfielder Mo Besic is ready to prove to manager Roberto Martinez that he is the man for the middle of the park and says he is ready for when he gets the call.
Besic has suffered a tough few months with injuries and lack of playing time affecting his season, but after a man of the match substitute performance against Spurs, the tough tackling midfielder is ready for more game time.
“I am ready, so when the gaffer needs me I will be there,” Besic told the official Everton website. “But what’s important is the result – it’s not just important to play.
“It was my second game after a long time. I really enjoyed it and I felt good on the pitch.”
Besic had a cracking volley saved by an outstretched Hugo Lloris near the end and the Bosnian admits he thought it was going in.
“When you shoot, sometimes you don’t realise whether it is a good shot or not but I was thinking it was going to be a good goal as soon as I hit it. Sadly, it wasn’t to be,” added the 23-year-old. “It was an open game. They had chances, we had chances. But I was expecting a win because the last couple of games had not been good results.
“We are disappointed but, when you can’t win a game, you have to make sure you at least draw it.”
How did you rate Besic performance?
