Oviedo: I am happy to be back again

Everton defender Bryan Oviedo is delighted to be back and playing again after suffering a horrendous 12 months of injuries following his return to action against Hearts yesterday.

The Costa Rican left-back finally returned to fitness in time for some pre-season action and is targeting more minutes in tomorrows friendly against Dundee to try and regain full fitness.

“I am happy to be back again and to play some minutes,” said Oviedo. “Now everything is coming together well and I hope to play more minutes in this pre-season and be ready for the season ahead.

“It was a long wait but now it is in the past. Now the most important thing is to work hard and to be ready. For me, the most important thing is the future now.

“It was a good competitive game against Hearts. It was good for everyone to play and we played very well.

“We were very solid in defence and in attack we made many chances and scored good goals. We need to continue with that and progress ahead of the next game.

“I hope I can work hard on my fitness and get more minutes in the next game.”
