United, City and Chelsea will have to offer over £40m for Stones

Manchester City and Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race for John Stones but the Mirror claims that even an offer of £40m could be rejected out of hand.

The England man is happy at Goodison Park and the life he has and the club have said that they will reject any offer out of hand as they fight to keep the talented defender.

Stones is rated as one of English footballs brightest hopes having been described as playing like a defender that has played the game at the top level for many years by Ex –Pro’s impressed with his ability.

Stones only signed a five year, £30,000-a-week deal last season and Everton fans will be wanting the 21 year old to remain at the club for many years.

Will Stones be at the club next season if the three clubs get in a bidding war?

  1. If they do decide to cash in on him,I hope they are not thinking Scott Dann is an acceptable replacement. And not one of Man U’s cast offs either. I really do hope I am wrong but I can almost hear the excuses for the poor results tripping off Roberto’s tongue now, The team must be built from a solid and dependable back line.Mess about likelast year and we could be in a lot of trouble.
